The Folk Music of African Americans

The Chincoteague Island Arts Organization (CIAO) invites you to Celebrate Black History Month with The Folk Music of African Americans – an interactive program telling the story of the lives and the music of the African American people. The program is one of a series of workshops presented by celebrated performer and arts educator Devonna Rowe. Dr. Rowe brings history to life with music and movement and is an artist-in-residence with the Maryland Arts Council. History comes to life as the students take part in this musical drama, designed to entertain adults and children from third grade and up.
